I also try to link wider commercial trends to the story I find interesting. For example, how Covid-19 is impacting the shift towards EVs.
AlinakazmiModeratorI agree with Ines, I think areas that impact most sectors such as unemployment rates showing how the overall economy is doing. It helps in interviews as you can always link the topics to any commercial question.

I am so glad you asked because it is certainly an area that I struggle with. My approach has always been to follow the 3 industries that interest me the most. Furthermore, reading Watson’s Daily helps you identify trends and pick out hot topics which have an impact on the macro-economic view of commerce.
AlinakazmiModeratorPersonally, I think for the short term it will be able to sustain its ‘fast fashion’ business strategy, especially because since the economic crises following the pandemic, I think people would still want to buy cheaper clothes that look good.
However, with the government condemning ‘fast fashion’ and a shift towards a greener era, I think there will be more regulatory pressures on ‘fast fashion’ business strategies in the long run. Also, companies like Selfridges allowing individuals to rent out expensive clothes for lower prices may add more pressure on ‘fast fashion’ business structures as consumers may want to keep up to date with new and evolving fashion by renting clothes rather than buying clothes for cheap and then disposing of them.

Why are retail investors being targeted apart from the potential for profits by NFT sales speculations? and how will other businesses apart from the sporting and gaming industry will be affected? Law firms can certainly help with drafting smart contracts in favour of the original creators.
