Fun fact(s)/Brand(s)
In addition to selling ridiculously expensive exercise bikes, the company also sells overpriced – and, presumably, reassuringly expensive – treadmills as well. Unfortunately, a child died after getting pulled under the Tread+ in summer 2021 while the parent was running on it and there was a mass recall as a result. After peaking under lockdown, demand fell, it got bad PR from Chris Noth’s character on And Just Like That… (and later Billions), it cut production because it wasn’t selling enough units, activist investor Blackwells Capital pushed for a change in the CEO (which they got) and a new owner (which they didn’t) and then an FT investigation found that it had been selling rusty bikes. Not great.
